Born and raised in the coastal city of Karachi, Pakistan. Umair developed an early interest in visual arts and photography and uses the camera to capture his surroundings.

His interest lies in exploring the human condition, framing the subtleties of life, capturing profound-nuances, fleeting moments in time. Umair is a visual-anthropologist, a social- explorer.

Umair is a Fulbright Scholar with an MFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
